As an educator for three decades, David has been teaching the cello at numerous educational institutions and giving private cello lessons at his studio as well as conducting youth orchestras. His many students range from kindergarteners to teachers, housewives to office workers, doctors to lawyers, professors to retirees.

​

In Hong Kong, David was a cello teacher at Diocesan Preparatory School, Diocesan Girls' Junior School, Good Hope Primary School, Marymount Secondary School, St. Paul's Co-educational College Primary School, St. Stephen's College, St. Stephen's Girls Primary School, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The Education University of Hong Kong, among others.
